Quincy College announces the inauguration
of its sixth president,
Martha Sue Harris

The Board of Governors
is pleased to announce the inauguration of
Quincy College's sixth president, Martha Sue
Harris, on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at 3:00pm.

During the Board of Governors' annual meeting
on September 19, 2005, Martha Sue Harris was unanimously
appointed the sixth president of Quincy College.
Born in Peterborough, New Hampshire,
she graduated cum laude from Boston University
in 1967 and
later attended Harvard University
in 1990 to complete her Master of Education. She
is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Education
from Lesley University
in Cambridge, Mass.
Sue Harris has been with the
College for the last 14 years. She started as
Assistant Director of the Plymouth Campus in
November 1991, and was instrumental in getting
this campus off the ground. She moved to the
Quincy Campus in
1992 and worked as Director of the Evening and
Weekend Programs until 1997. During this period,
this division experienced tremendous
growth in enrollment
and services. For the last five years, she has
held the position of Dean of Liberal Arts and
Sciences.
President Harris has made a
lifelong commitment to education and was Education
Director for the League of Women Voters
of Massachusetts. She also taught in the Quincy
Public School System for a number of years.
Ms. Harris lives in Quincy
with her husband of 33 years and has three sons.
