PRINCIPLES OF CUSTOMER SERVICE (BUS 202)

This 20 week program helps Advanced English learners take Quincy College classes and get a job in IT. This FREE program includes 6 transferable college credits, books, and registration fees.

Participants take ESOL for IT, Quincy College classes in Operating Systems (CSI 217, 3 credits) , Principles of Customer Service (BUS 202, 3 credits), and the CompTIA Fundamentals+ Exam.

The program includes Job Readiness classes and Job Placement Support in the IT Field.

*No classes July 1-5, 2019

Eligibility

  • Speak and write English at a High-Intermediate – Advanced English Level (SPL 5-6)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 18+
  • Interested in working in the IT field
  • Able to attend day-time classes for 20 weeks
  • TABE 9/10 Assessment Test required for placement
  • Be able to work in the United States
  • Students must be registered for both CSI 217 and BUS 202

Program funded through MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and provided by Quincy Community Action Programs, Inc. and Quincy College

    This course explores the concepts of operating systems and their relationship to computer architecture. Topics include concurrent processing, scheduling, memory management, file systems, device management, and resource allocation. Prerequisite: CSI 116.

    • Principles of Customer Service
    • 3
    This course examines the principles of customer service and their significance in a service-driven economy. Topics covered include: The Service Strategy, The Customer: Internal & External; Customers’ Wants & Needs; Communicating Customer Service; Profiles of Successful Companies; Service People-Motivation, Commitment, and Reward. Placement at ENG 101 level strongly advised.
