This course will teach students how to plan and hold successful events to raise funds to support non-profit programs. Other topics include working with nonprofit committees, meetings, conferences and income-generating elements of a nonprofit event.

This 8 week program teaches students how to plan and hold successful events to raise funds to support non-profit programs.

NEP 107 costs $225 (plus a $25 online resource fee)

Special Events are not only a great way to raise funds but also build awareness and community support. Unfortunately, many events fall flat, usually due to lack of clear goals, preparation, limited resources and people power. Whether you are a nonprofit professional, an aspiring event planner or a passionate volunteer, this course will teach you the tried and true ways to pull all the pieces together from fundraising galas to community awareness events so that it fits in an organization’s fundraising program and mission.

Other topics include working with nonprofit committees, meetings, conferences and income-generating elements of a nonprofit event.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Explain how events can meet nonprofit objectives (galas, runs, walks, fundraisers)
  • Develop a sponsorship kit, program ad book and solicit silent and live auction items to support financial objectives for a nonprofit client
  • Record the planning and fundraising process for a one-year planning timetable
  • Devise a low-cost décor concept to meet a nonprofit clients goals
  • Create a production schedule
