The Quincy College Wedding Planning Non-Credit Certificate program (WPC 101) is an 8 week program that meets once a week and will cover the many elements that go into producing a wedding celebration. The students will learn the rituals and customs of traditional and specialty weddings, contemporary trends and practices as well as pricing and planning techniques.

To enhance the students’ learning, a variety of teaching methods are used, including classroom group projects, online learning, industry field trips and guest lectures.

  • Select “Non-Credit” from the “Term” drop down menu
  • Click the “Search” button at the bottom of the page

The Quincy College Wedding Planning Non-Credit Certificate program (WPC 101) is an 8 week program that meets once a week and will cover the many elements that go into producing a wedding celebration. The students will learn the rituals and customs of traditional and specialty weddings, contemporary trends and practices as well as pricing and planning techniques.

Program Outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Explain the processes of wedding celebrations in various religious, social and cultural settings
  • Develop a detailed timeline of the preparations and steps leading up to a wedding celebration
  • State how the wedding elements selected can address the goals and objectives of couples
  • Record the various costs associated with producing a wedding (budget)
  • Create a production plan that includes details on vendors/suppliers, services and timing for a one-day or multi-day wedding celebration
  • Identify the steps needed to launch a success wedding planning business

    The 24 hour, eight week Non-Credit Wedding Planning Certificate program will cover the many elements that go into producing a wedding celebration. Students will learn the rituals and customs of traditional and specialty weddings, contemporary trends and practices as well as pricing and planning techniques. Guest lecturers will share insight on topics including uncovering design concepts that pertain exclusively to weddings.
