Institutional Accreditation

 
Quincy College is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), an institutional accreditor recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. NECHE accredits colleges and universities across the United States and internationally.
Accreditation by NECHE indicates that an institution meets or exceeds established standards for institutional quality, which are periodically evaluated through a peer review process. An accredited institution has the resources necessary to achieve its stated purposes through appropriate educational programs, demonstrates that it is substantially achieving those purposes, and provides reasonable evidence that it will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. Institutional integrity is also addressed through the accreditation process.
NECHE accreditation applies to Quincy College as a whole. Institutional accreditation does not constitute a guarantee of every course or program offered or of the competence of individual graduates. Rather, it provides reasonable assurance of the quality of the educational opportunities available to students who attend the institution.

Authorization

Quincy College is authorized by the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education to award the degrees of Associate in Arts and Associate in Science and Certificates of Completion. The College is also approved for the training of veterans and their dependents.

Programmatic Accreditation and Approval

In addition to institutional accreditation, certain Quincy College academic programs hold specialized programmatic accreditation or approval from the appropriate accrediting or regulatory bodies.

Surgical Technology — CAAHEP

The Quincy College Surgical Technology Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC/STSA).

Physical Therapist Assistant – CAPTE

The Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Quincy College is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), 3030 Potomac Ave., Suite 100, Alexandria, Virginia 22305-3085; telephone: 703-706-3245; email: [email protected]; website: www.capteonline.org.

Associate Degree in Nursing – BORN and ACEN

The Quincy College Associate of Science Degree in Nursing program has Full Approval from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing (BORN).
The Associate Degree in Nursing program is also a candidate for initial accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Effective February 19, 2025, the associate nursing program at Quincy College at the Quincy Campus and Plymouth Campus located in Massachusetts is a candidate for initial accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. This candidacy status expires in February 2027.

Radiation Therapy

The Quincy College Radiation Therapy Program is an applicant program seeking initial accreditation by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). The program completed its initial accreditation site visit in April 2026 and is awaiting a final accreditation decision from the JRCERT. An applicant program has not been granted accreditation status.

The comprehensive evaluation provides an opportunity for Quincy College to reflect on institutional effectiveness, educational quality, student success, and continuous improvement in relation to the NECHE Standards for Accreditation.

In keeping with NECHE’s Policy and Procedures for Public Comments, members of the public are invited to submit comments regarding Quincy College. Comments must address substantive matters related to the quality of the institution or its academic programs.
