 Frequently Asked Questions for New Hires

Where is the HR Office located?

The Office of Human Resources is located at 1250 Hancock St in Quincy, MA. Please take the elevators in the North Tower located near the security desk, to the second floor. When you exit the elevator, turn sharp right (do not enter the double doors opposite the elevator).

I was given a VOYA Enrollment Form. Is this optional?

Public employees in Massachusetts do not pay Social Security tax and are instead enrolled in a deferred compensation plan. This is a required enrollment form for employees who are not enrolled in either the Mass Teachers Retirement System or the Quincy Retirement System. Please call 617-984-1690 if you have further questions.

Can I sign-up for direct deposit?

Yes. Please sign onto ADP employee self-service at https://workforcenow.adp.com. Then select MYSELF -> PAY -> DIRECT DEPOSIT. If adding more than one account, at least one should be set to “Full Net.”

How do I record my time worked for my first week?

Timesheets are now completed through ADP.

Please sign onto ADP employee self-service at https://workforcenow.adp.com. Then select MYSELF -> TIME & ATTENDANCE -> MY TIMECARD.

How do I complete the state ethics training, and when is it due?

You can complete the municipal ethics training by going to http://www.mass.gov/ethics/ and click “Online Conflict of Interest Law Training” towards the bottom of the page.

On the next page, click “COMPLETE THE ONLINE TRAINING PROGRAM FOR EMPLOYEES OF CITIES AND TOWNS”.

Finally, select “ONLINE PROGRAM FOR MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES.”

Trainings should be completed prior to the end of your 2nd work week and every 2 years thereafter.

Print the certificate of completion or screen capture it, and send to Human Resources via interoffice mail or email ejohnston@quincycollege.edu.

I completed the state ethics training, but my name does not appear on the certificate. What should I do?

If this occurs, submit the the blank certificate to HR with a signed statement noting the date and time you completed the training.

Where can I find an electronic version of the faculty handbook?

You can access the faculty handbook on the Current Employees tab on the left, or request one from HR.

When can I expect my first paycheck?

Full-time and part-time faculty and staff are paid on a biweekly schedule. Adjuncts are paid according to the academic calendar payroll schedule. All pay schedules can be found on the Payroll tab.

Quincy College offers generous paid vacation, sick time, personal time, and holidays to all benefit eligible employees.

Benefits eligible employees may request time off through ADP.

Please sign onto ADP employee self-service at https://workforcenow.adp.com. Then select MYSELF -> TIME OFF -> REQUEST TIME OFF.

 Frequently Requested Forms/Information

As a reminder, updates to personal employee information, such as address changes, direct deposit, M-4 (State Tax), and W-4 (Federal Tax) changes can be completed online via ADP employee self-service.

If the form you need is not listed above or if you need assistance logging into ADP employee self-service, please contact the HR Office at 617-984-1690. For copies of the QEA Unit D or Unit E Contracts, please consult your unit representative.

Payroll

All employees are encouraged to set-up direct deposit via ADP employee self-service to ensure speedy and secure delivery of paychecks.

Timecards in ADP should be completed and ready for your supervisor to review no later than Fridays at noon.
