Quincy College and United Way of Greater Plymouth have collaborated to support the needs of students looking to prepare for their HiSET/GED exams, and is offering a FREE 15-week program to help students in Plymouth and surrounding areas to prepare for their exams. This program is funded through a United Way of Greater Plymouth grant.

” In effort to meet the demand for educated workers along with building a strong, healthy and vibrant community, Quincy College and United Way of Greater Plymouth County have formed a joint partnership that aims to provide post- secondary educational, career and social support services, to the Plymouth residents. This partnership began in 2018 and continues into the 2019-2020 Academic Year with the new High School Equivalency Preparation program, (HISET/GED) offered at no cost, to students that don’t have a High School Diploma. This program, is an excellent opportunity for students they are seeking to further their education, ” stated Kate Lopci, Associate Vice President for Workforce Development & Community Engagement.

The 15-week program is projected to start on Monday, September 30, 2019 and will provide academic preparation on all five subject areas, included in the HiSET/GED exams. Classes will be held Monday and Wednesdays at the Quincy College, Plymouth Campus, located at 36 Cordage Park Circle in Plymouth. The Monday classes will run from 5:30PM to 8:30PM and cover English Language Arts, Social Studies, and Writing. The Wednesday classes also held from 5:30PM to 8:30PM will cover Science and Mathematics topics.

Upon program completion and after passing the HiSet/GED exams, students are eligible to apply for a scholarship towards their education at Quincy College.
