Quincy College Granite continued its NJCAA Division III domination with wins versus Northern Essex Community College and Quinsigamond Community College.
The Granite are now ranked 7th nationally in all NJCAA Division III Men’s Basketball.
On Thursday, January 18th, the Granite were led by Deven Palmer who posted a game high 44 points and 11 rebounds. Contributing to the offensive efforts was Ugo Kamalu with 25 points and 11 rebounds and Jonathan Daviega with 24 points respectively. Coach Doug Scott praised the efforts of all of his players for their strong team efforts. Scott also applauded the bench play of Reggie Cesar, John Pope and newcomer Farnel Etienne as key to Quincy College Granite Men’s Basketball current win streak of 16 consecutive victories.
On Saturday, January 20th, Quincy College Granite returned to their home court, the Lahue Gym at Eastern Nazarene College and celebrated a 106 to 101 victory over the formidable Quinsigamond Community College team. Ugo Kamalu led the Granite with 27 points 12 rebounds and 5 assists and Deven Palmer added 26 points and 12 rebounds to pace the offense.
The Quincy College players are some of the best in the league, and they have the statistics to prove it. Freshman Deven Palmer leads Division III play nationally in points per game, averaging 31.9 points per game. Palmer is also second in Division III National play for total points scored this seasion with 479 points. Quincy College freshman Dajour Dunkley leads Division III play nationally with 148 assists on the season. Quincy College freshman Ugo Kamalu rounds out the Quincy College offensive position posting 67.9 in field goal percentage.
Quincy College Men’s Basketball goes on the road next week with a key game with University of Connecticut-Avery on Saturday, January 27th to be followed by conference games against Bunker Hill Community College to be played on Tuesday January 30th and Bristol Community College to be played on February 3rd.
