Quincy College Granite Men’s Soccer is building momentum on the season with a 5-2 win versus Springfield Technical Community College on Saturday, September 22.
Quincy Granite men’s soccer team secured a lead quickly in the September 22 soccer game with a four goal lead in the first half behind the strong offensive play of #19 Freshman Jeffrey Monteiro of Randolph who scored two goals, #11 Sophomore Herbie Milien of Dorchester who had 4 shots on goal, 1 goal and 1 assist; #4, Sophomore Lorkens Exumat of Dorchester, who had 3 shots on goal, 1 goal and 1 assist and #9 Sophomore Kenny Ofori of Hartford, Connecticut, who had 3 shots on goal, 2 assists.
Holding a comfortable lead was supported by defensive efforts and the strong goaltending of #1 Sophomore Nate Getman of Birmingham, AL.
Starting the second half of the game, Springfield Technical Community College attempted to rebound and quickly scored two goals. Quincy College Granite re-grouped to carry the play and add an insurance goal by #7 Freshman Zedrick Viera Moreira of Quincy. Quincy College Granite is now 2-1 on the season.
Quincy College’s efforts on field were supported by steady play from #10 Thiago Goncalves Carvalho of Dorchester, #12 Sejdi Velaj of Dorchester, #2 Hamza Mohamednur of Cambridge, #3 Rafal Pena Garcia of Quincy, and #15 Kosta Dhembi.
The Granite is headed into a two home game stretch the week of September 24th.
On Tuesday, September 25, Quincy College Granite will face Bunker Hill Community College; kick off at 6pm at Creedon Field.
On Friday, September 28, Quincy College will play on the new turf at Veterans Stadium and will face Roxbury Community College with kick off at 6pm.
