The Quincy College Granite men’s soccer team had a busy week at home as they dropped a 5-1 decision to National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) division leader Bunker Hill Community College on Tuesday September 25th but bounced back strong Friday, September 28th with a domineering 10-1 win versus Roxbury Community College.

On Tuesday, September 25th, Quincy College Granite played a strong first half of the game behind the commanding goal tending of #1 Nate Getman and the defensive efforts of #14 Gareth McAlinden of Plymouth, #2 Hamza Mohamednur of Cambridge and #10 Thiago Carvalho of Dorchester. The strong depth of Bunker Hill Community College showed in the second half as they scored 3 unanswered goals to pull away from the younger Quincy College Granite team. Quincy College Granite Head Coach Idris Senyonjo praised the efforts of the entire team during a challenging defeat.

Quincy College Granite quickly responded on Friday, September 28th with an overwhelming 10-1 victory over visiting team, Roxbury Community College. Granite was led by the 4 goal efforts of freshman #4 Lorkens Exumat of Dorchester and 3 goals by #7 Zedrick Moreira of Quincy. Also joining in on the Granite offense was #12 Sejdi Velaj of Dorchester who had two goals and #8 Alexssander Lopes of Dorchester. Quincy’s total team effort put their record at 3 wins and 2 losses; making a strong run towards the NJCAA Region 21 playoffs.

Dorchester native, Lorken Exumat leads Division III NJCAA Play as an offensive leader. He is 4th in goals this season and 5th in points/shots. Quincy College Granite Goalkeeper, Nate Getman is 4th in saves in Division III NJCAA play with 22 saves on the season.
