For a third year in a row, Quincy College is nationally and locally ranked among two-year public colleges in Washington Monthly Magazine’s 2018 College Guide and Rankings annual review of American colleges and universities.
Quincy College is ranked a “Best College for Adult Learners.” Washington Monthly categorizes adult learners as students over the age of twenty-five. Quincy College is ranked fourth in Massachusetts and is nationally ranked at #36.
Washington Monthly provides prospective students with a tool and resource with which to critically compare higher education institutions to support the college decision making process.
Other Massachusetts two-year public colleges highlighted in the Washington Monthly ranking were North Shore Community College, appearing at #16, Mount Wachusett appearing at #26, and Mass Bay Community College, appearing #29.
Quincy College received the highest rankings of four (out of four) for ease of transfer, eight (out of nine) for flexibility of programs, and four (out of six) for services offered to adult students. Of the Massachusetts ranked two-year public colleges, Quincy College serves the largest adult learner population with 52% of registered students over the age of 25.
Washington Monthly combined data points from the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard, College Board’s Annual Survey of Colleges, and the IPEDS. These data sources compile national data on all higher educational institutions in the United States. For the Adult Learner ranking, Washington Monthly reviewed and qualitatively ranked national higher educational institutions into seven general measures of colleges’ openness and responsiveness to adult students and rated higher education institutions across three metrics: ease of transfer, flexibility of programs and services offered for adults.
Quincy College provides all-inclusive student services such as free tutoring and financial aid assist students every step of the way. Adult Learner Liaisons (ALL) are in every student facing office including Academic Advising, Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, and Student Accounts. These dedicated Adult Learner Liaisons address the needs of the adult learner and assist them in their return to the classroom.
Quincy College has classes starting throughout the fall with flex courses offering 5-week, 7-week, and 10- week classes starting September, October, and November on campus. In addition, Quincy College offers online classes that are running as well throughout the Fall. Adult Learners can take advantage of all that Quincy College has to offer throughout the Fall with its rolling admissions and streamlined services.
