Mark Bertman, a Quincy businessman and longtime advocate for Quincy College, received Quincy College Trust’s Quintessential Award on Thursday evening.
The award was presented at the Tirrell Room at 254 Quarry St., Quincy.
Bertman is a past member of the Quincy College Board of Governors, the first president of Quincy College Trust and the proprietor of Rogers Jewelers in Quincy Center. The store has been in the city since 1940.
“Mark is quintessential Quincy,” said Tina Cahill, the director of institutional advancement at the college. “He is a man who embodies what it means to support others as they strive to improve their lives through education.”
The Quincy College Trust is a nonprofit foundation established to receive charitable donations and scholarship and endowment money in support of Quincy College.
