ABCD
Action for Boston Community Development Inc., (ABCD) has received a grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (“DEEC”) to provide professional development services to Region 6 through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care Educator and Provider Support (“EPS”) Grant in FY19. The EPS Grant is designed to support the ongoing development of a statewide professional development system that provides intentional professional development opportunities and technical assistance to early education and out-of-school time providers and educators across the EEC’s mixed delivery system, regardless of setting, age group, and position level. ABCD and Quincy College will be offering a PSY 103, Child Development course to interested EEC clients.
PSY 103, Child Development
Course Description: This course is designed to provide the student with an integrated understanding of child development as it relates to early childhood education. A broad theoretical background is combined with principles of application. Emphasis is on the social context of early development, group processes, influence of the family, role of play, and the development of cognitive capabilities.
