Three years ago, Christian Alicea was ready to commit to a college education, but was worried about the cost. Our partnership with the National Association of Government Employees (NAGE) helped allay those fears.

Because NAGE members and their immediate families receive discounted tuition at Quincy College, his mom’s union membership made it possible for him to earn his associate’s degree at a significantly lower cost.

“It made all the difference in my being able to afford it,” Christian says. “And it was an amazing experience. The option to take courses remotely really worked for me.”

He describes his Quincy College education as providing “the perfect segue” to his current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in political science at Boston College. “I learned critical thinking skills that I use a lot. I’m proud of myself that I’ve come this far and NAGE and Quincy College helped me get here.”
