Alexandra Politio first attended Quincy College 10 years ago. By her own admission, it didn’t go well.
“I was the worst student,” she recalls with a smile.
Fast-forward a decade and she’s back on campus with a totally different mindset, now just weeks from earning her Practical Nursing (PN) certificate along with induction into the College’s Phi Theta Kappa honor society.
During the years between, Alexandra became a Certified Nursing Assistant and also worked as a medical assistant in a large physician practice – experiences that brought her professional aspirations into focus.
“Eventually, I want to be a certified nurse anesthetist,” she says. “The Quincy College PN program is just the first step.”
Alexandra is a mother of two, works full-time and is proud to be the first in her family to go to college. It may have taken her a while to find her path, but she’s happy with where it led her. “At first, I really was worried about being older,” she says. “But I like learning. It gets easier as you go.”
