Nurse of the Future
The Massachusetts NOF core competencies define the knowledge, attitude, and skills which are expectations for all nurses and is the framework for our updated curriculum.
The Academic Division of Nursing has developed a blended concept-based curriculum, which has been aligned with the NCLEX® test plan.
The admission criteria is competitive and selective. The new rigorous curriculum promotes the development of critical thinking and clinical reasoning.
The program integrates evidence-based content to guide the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for nursing care that promotes quality patient outcomes.
Fosters interprofessional communication and collaboration with all members of the healthcare team.
The mission of the nursing program is to prepare each graduate for success on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX®).
Graduates will be ready for entry-level nursing practice with a commitment to educational advancement and lifelong learning.
The organizing framework for the Quincy College Nursing Program is focused on what the new graduate needs to know and do to provide safe care in the current healthcare environment as a Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse. Our aim is to inspire confident and competent beginning practitioners of nursing. The organizing framework draws heavily on the work of the Massachusetts Nurse of the Future Nursing Core CompetenciesⒸ (NOFNCC), and ties together all parts of the Nursing curriculum.
