Overview

The Phlebotomy Career Training Certificate is a 14-week program that combines classroom instruction with an additional 120 hours of practical training to prepare students for the ever-changing field of phlebotomy. Students will develop venipuncture (blood-drawing) skills along with critical thinking, and communication skills required to provide essential patient samples used to diagnose diseases and monitor patients’ health progress.

Details

The phlebotomy career training program is time-efficient and affordable.
Program graduates may choose to work in health clinics, private medical practices, hospitals, laboratories, and blood donation centers.
Successful program completion allows students to sit for the national certification examination.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 22% increase in job opportunities for phlebotomists between the years 2020 and 2030, which is a much higher increase than in other professions.

Tuition Cost

Cost of the phlebotomy career training program is $2,500, excluding the cost of uniform (navy-blue scrubs), textbooks, and the NHA Certification Exam fee.

A phlebotomist is a person responsible for drawing blood from patients for lab tests, transfusions, or donation. Phlebotomists are trained to collect blood via venipuncture (when a needle is used to draw blood from a vein), finger pricks, or in the case of infants, heel pricks. Phlebotomists are employed in a variety of settings, including hospitals, medical and diagnostic laboratories, blood donor centers, and doctors' offices.
