Overview

The Phlebotomy Career Training Certificate is a 10-week program that combines classroom instruction with an additional 120 hours of practical training to prepare students for the ever-changing field of phlebotomy. Students will develop venipuncture (blood-drawing) skills along with critical thinking, and communication skills required to provide essential patient samples used to diagnose diseases and monitor patients’ health progress.

  • Program graduates may choose to work in health clinics, private medical practices, hospitals, laboratories, and blood donation centers.
  • Successful program completion allows students to sit for the national certification examination.
  • The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 22% increase in job opportunities for phlebotomists between the years 2020 and 2030, which is a much higher increase than in other professions.

Tuition Cost

Cost of the phlebotomy career training program is $1,200. Program meets unemployment criteria. Qualified clients can receive full funding from MassHire Career Centers.
