Quincy College offers two convenient locations, Quincy and Plymouth, flexible office hours, non-traditional semesters, and online course offerings designed to meet the needs of even the most hectic schedule. Admission Requirements
Of our 37 associate degree programs and 27 certificate programs, we have 30 associate degrees and 25 certificates that are open enrollment, which means that you can apply and be accepted at any time – the only requirement is that you’ve completed high school or a HiSET/GED. To enroll in one of these programs, follow the steps below.

Submit Official Transcripts
Submit your official high school, HiSET/GED, or College Transcripts to the Quincy College Admissions Office. Any transcripts related to a high school or college education completed outside of the United States must be evaluated by The Center for Educational Documentation (CED), please visit cedevaluations.com

Take the Quincy College Placement Test
Quincy College placement tests are mandatory for new, and incoming students seeking an associate degree or certificate. If you have completed a college-level Math or English course at a regionally accredited institution with a grade of C or higher, you may be exempt from taking the college placement test. An official and sealed transcript must be submitted to Quincy College, showing completion of these courses. Students looking to take ESL classes should complete the LOEP test.
Due to COVID-19, all testing is either done remotely or scheduled on a limited basis. Please contact (617) 984-1668 for Testing Center updates and appointments.

Non-Degree Seeking Students
If you are looking to take classes to transfer to another college or university or for your own personal interests and you are not looking to get a degree from Quincy College, you can register as a Non-Degree Seeking student. Please note that Non-Degree Seeking students are not eligible to receive Financial Aid; if you hope to use Financial Aid, please apply to one of our associate degree or certificate programs.

Follow these steps for Online Registration
- Go to the QCPortal and login
- Click “Course Search” at the top of the page
- Select “Non-Credit” from the “Term” drop down menu
- Click the “Search” button at the bottom of the page
Courses/programs listed with “NC” are non-credit courses/programs.
Quincy College offers 3 selective associate degree and 4 selective certificate programs in health sciences. Applicants must complete specific program requirements in order to be considered and accepted into the programs.
If you have not completed the prerequisites for the program you are interested in, please contact the admissions office to review the course offerings that Quincy College offers to fulfill those requirements.
All sciences courses must be completed within 5 years from the year and term the student enters a selective program. Computer courses must be completed within 7 years from the year and term the student enters a selective program.
Phlebotomy Certificate
Full time program
A 10 month program, students should be available Monday – Friday from 7 am – 3 pm
Starts in Fall and Spring and offered on the Quincy Campus

- Qualified Health Science Admissions Test with minimum scores of 253 for Reading Comprehension, 250 for Sentence Skills, and 260 for Arithmetic OR completion of ENG101 with a C or higher and MAT103 with a C or higher
- HSC 107: Orientation to Health Care (1 credit) with a C or higher
- HSC140: Medical Terminology (3 credits) with a C or higher

Physical Therapist Assistant Associate Degree
Application Period
January 20, 2021 – May 1, 2021
Begins in the fall semester (Plymouth campus only)
Length of program is 2 years (includes summer courses between year 1 and year 2)
Time Committment: Students should be available for PTA classes Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm
Additional core courses might fall outside of the scheduled times for PTA courses.
Clinical schedule hours varies depending on site.
Admissions Pre-requirements
- Official high school transcript or HiSET/GED records or original diploma (if completed outside the United States, high school transcripts/diplomas must be evaluated by CED (Center for Educational Documentation).
- ATI TEAS must be completed by April 23, 2021: There is no minimum overall score for PTA Applicants (visit atitesting.com to register)
- BIO 111: General Biology (4 credits) with a grade of C or higher OR BIO 131: Anatomy & Physiology I with a grade of C or higher (for applicants graduating from high school, a high school Biology course with a grade of B or higher)
- ENG 090: Basic Composition or placement into ENG 101 on the Accuplacer
- MAT 097 or placement into MAT 107 on the Accuplacer
- All applicants prior to the application deadline will be required to attend a mandatory PTA Virtual Open House with PTA faculty as part of their application. There are two Open Houses available, scheduled for March 2, 2021 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and April 1, 2021 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Please register for a PTA Open House.
- Accepted students will be required to attend the PTA Program Orientation Meeting to reserve their seat in the class.

How do I apply to become a Quincy College student?
Quincy College makes it easy for you to start College; even if you’ve never taken college courses and have questions about what Quincy College has to offer, for answers you may contact the Admissions Office at 617-984-1710 or admissions@quincycollege.edu.
You may also complete an online Admissions Application at any time; when your application is submitted and processed, you will become an accepted student.
The College will then contact you with the next steps you need to take to enroll in the programs or courses that interest you.
Is there an application deadline?
Quincy College operates on a rolling admission basis; students can apply and be accepted at any time during the year.
Select programs have specific application and program requirements.

How can I meet with an Admissions Officer to get help with selecting classes?
When your application has been submitted and approved, you will receive a student ID, portal password, and information on how to proceed with the registration process. After you have been accepted, you may contact the Admissions and Advising offices by phone at 617-984-1710, email at admissions@quincycollege.edu, or through the College’s Virtual Live Offices, and we will assist you with choosing the appropriate course selections.
What is the difference between a Degree Seeking and Non-Degree Seeking student?
Students who are Degree-Seeking, or enrolled in a certificate program at Quincy College are eligible to apply for financial aid and are on pace to receive an associate’s degree or a certificate that consists of college credit courses.
Students enrolled as either degree-seeking or certificate-seeking must meet with an academic advisor at the beginning of each semester to be sure they are registering for courses that pertain to their degree and area of study. Non-Degree Seeking students are not eligible for financial aid and do not need to meet with an academic advisor.
Students who apply to Selective programs must meet strict requirements and application process. Financial aid is applicable. For information about the select programs offered at Quincy College, contact admissions at 617-984-1710 or admissions@quincycollege.edu.
Do I need to take the SAT?
No, the SAT (and ACT) are not required to enroll at Quincy College.
How do I schedule a college placement exam?
Upon being accepted to Quincy College, if you are a degree-seeking student, you must contact the advising office to discuss placement into the appropriate college-level courses. Contact Advising at 617-984-1670 or advising@quincycollege.edu
Is there an application fee?
No, it is free to apply to Quincy College.
How do I transfer to Quincy College?
Quincy College is here to help you make a seamless transition as you transfer your previously earned college credits towards your Quincy College degree.
As a Transfer student, you must first at apply online; then submit your official high school diploma and college transcript (s) to the Quincy College Admissions Office at admissions@quincycollege.edu. Transcripts must arrive electronically from the high school or your previous institution. If a hardcopy is sent it must arrive in a sealed envelope.
The Admissions team will review your transfer credits, transfer and apply all appropriate credits towards your Quincy College degree. Transfer credits may not exceed 30 credits. If you have questions, please contact Admissions at 617-984-1710 or by email atadmissions@quincycollege.edu.
