Computer Club

Computer Club holds weekly meetings on Fridays at 4pm in Presidents Place Room 035S. All current and former students are welcome.

Overview

Student Clubs and Organizations at Quincy College offer the opportunity to be involved in many different ways – on campus and in the community. Being a part of a club or an organization is an excellent opportunity to gain leadership skills and to make new friends. In addition, your academic experience will be enhanced through student involvement.  We have a variety of clubs and organizations that you can join, please check out the list of the active student clubs and organizations and see which one is right for you.

If you are unable to find a club/organization listed that interests you, think about starting your own new club. We encourage the formation of new clubs and organizations to meet the interests and needs of our students.

The Bible Study club provides a learning atmosphere for students to study personal and bible literacy. Once a week, the Bible Study club also hosts book club. All students are welcome to attend.

Black Student Union (BSU)

The QC Black Student Union (BSU): Formation of Excellence is formed by Quincy College students with faculty and staff advisors to create a community of teaching and learning outside of the classroom about Black history/culture and to provide opportunities for networking and success. People from all backgrounds are welcome to join at any time.

Business Alliance

The Let’s Talk Business Club is comprised of Quincy College students who join with their faculty advisor to create a community of teaching and learning outside the classroom where all members desire to learn more about business and prepare themselves for life after college. The club holds monthly meetings with topics of discussion chosen by student members and will bring guest speakers to further develop a solid business acumen.

Chess Club

The Chess Club provides students with the opportunity to learn the game and play against other students. Regular tournaments are held every month and the club meets on Friday afternoons. Whether you are new to the game or chess veteran, the Quincy College Chess Club has something to offer you.

Chill/Games Club

The Computer Club is a forum for members to share their knowledge and learn more about computer hardware and software. Activities include discussions, demonstrations, guest speakers, field trips, and hands-on projects or contests. Membership is open to all students and alumni.

Criminal Justice Club

The Criminal Justice Club is open to all students. Criminal Justice Club meets to discuss topics of interest in Criminal Justice, Private Security and Public Safety fields.

Drama Club

The Drama Club provides opportunities for members to develop an understanding of all aspects of theatre including character development, improvisation, set design, technology design, stage management and more. Auditions are held at the start of each semester for roles in a drama production performed at the end of each term. Membership is open to all students and alumni.

The Fashion Club is a group of students who would like to successfully organize and develop skills for students to get a feel of what the industry is like through hosting meetings and guest speakers. They will also host a small fashion show to showcase the member’s talents.

The Quincy College Gay/Straight Alliance

The QCGSA provides a friendly and safe environment for LGBTQ’s and their allies to meet and partake in educational discussions as well as events, programs and fun activities.

Guitar Club

The Guitar Club provides all students who are interested in playing acoustic guitar an opportunity to meet and play music. All students are welcome from beginner to advanced players. The purpose is to give students a time and place to get together and learn guitar in a supportive environment.

Human Services Club

Human Services Club provides all students who are interested in the field of social work or human services opportunities to discuss issues in the field, socialize, and to receive peer and community mentorship. The Quincy Campus Human Services Club can be reached at mlord@quincycollege.edu.

International Club

The International Club offers an inclusive atmosphere geared towards celebrating various cultures around the world. The goal of this club is to overcome cultural barriers and to facilitate social harmony among students by proving different social and educational programs and activities.

The Math Club provides opportunities to those students interested in strengthening Math skills. This will be accomplished through games, activities, and competitions. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in the Student Mathematics League competitions.

Phi Theta Kappa

Phi Theta Kappa is an honor society that recognizes and encourages the academic achievement of students at two-year colleges. To be eligible for membership, a student must have completed a minimum of 12 hours of coursework with an overall grade point average of 3.5 or higher, and maintain a 3.5 GPA throughout their enrollment at Quincy College.

PTK students will engage in community fundraising efforts and leadership skills, as well as having access to student scholarships.

PTA Club

The purpose of the PTA club is to promote awareness of the physical therapy profession, enrich educational opportunities for current and future PTA students, and to provide service opportunities.

Student Government Association

Student Government Association (SGA) acts as a liason between students and administration, faculty, and staff regarding the quality of student life at Quincy College. Student Government serves as representatives to the College Senate and Sub-Committees to give the students a voice in the college’s shared governance process. Students involved in SGA will be able to work directly with advisors to support new ideas and decisions for the College, as well as representing the ideas of the student body. The QC Wellness Club aims to be a safe place where students can receive peer support without judgement regarding any issues they may be facing. We will achieve this through peer support, gatherings, meditation, personal finance training, and creative opportunities. All students are welcome to join.

Women's Leadership Collaborative

The Women’s Leadership Collaborative is dedicated to building confidence and growing leaders. Our focus is to strengthen leadership skills, develop networking techniques, enhancing personal marketability and to gain self- efficiency.
