Quincy College recently started an athletic program and has joined the National Junior College Athletic
Association to offer competitive sports for students.
The college will offer men’s soccer and basketball during the 2017-2018 academic year, with plans to add
women’s soccer and basketball the following year.
“It came up through the student body to create an athletics department,” said Taggart Boyle, associate
vice president at the college. It “inspired the administration to pursue the accreditors and put this in
motion.” The college has hired an athletic director and two head coaches to lead the department.
