Purpose: Ensure the use of supported software versions and manage the deployment of software securely.

Scope: Applies to all software used within Quincy College's IT infrastructure.

Policy: Upgrade outdated software and establish a software lifecycle management process.

Procedures:

  • Maintain a detailed inventory of all software.
  • Regularly review software for updates and end-of-life status.
  • Plan and execute upgrades for unsupported software immediately.
  • Ensure all software deployments are approved by IT before installation.
  • Submit academic software requests to the Provost Council, including a comprehensive cybersecurity assessment.
  • Prohibit employees from installing software unless certified by IT.
