Quincy College Foundation

Our Mission

The Quincy College Foundation is a not-for-profit foundation established to receive endowment funds, charitable donations and gifts in support of Quincy College and its mission to provide an affordable and accessible post-secondary education to its students.

The Quincy College Foundation Board is responsible for assuring that donations are used for intended purposes, scholarships are awarded, and granting special funding requests that enhance the overall mission of Quincy College.

The Foundation seeks to build a network of community support and increased public understanding of the college as a vital resource and contributor to the economic vibrancy of the region.

Blue Button that says "What a difference one gift can make. Give Today"

Why Give?

1. Private Support is Essential to Quincy College

Because Quincy College is not a Massachusetts community college, the college does not receive an annual infusion of funding with each state budget cycle. This makes it 100% reliant on tuition and fees to fund its operational and capital budget, therefore placing greater reliance on tuition revenues and private philanthropy to help make quality educational opportunities available for all.

2. Maximize Your Impact

Your charitable giving goes further at Quincy College. For example, a $1,000 donation is not enough to fund one course at most four-year universities. At Quincy College, the same amount covers a three-credit class plus books.

3. Make High-Quality Higher Education Accessible for All

Quincy College’s non-traditional students, including parents, those who work full time, or those needing to reskill after a change in employment, need financial support to stay on track. By supporting a student scholarship, you can make the difference between a student dropping out and staying on a successful path to graduation.

4. Keep Local Talent for Local Jobs

As the region faces an urgent need for educated workers, college degrees, workforce certificates, industry certifications, and other high-quality credentials are in high demand. Quincy College graduates help fuel the region’s economic engine and keep essential workers in the community while lighting a path to financial stability and career advancement for students. Quincy College has relationships with key regional employers in fields like biotechnology/biomanufacturing and health care. Students benefit from an employment pipeline that the college has worked hard to establish by identifying workforce needs and tailoring programs in response.

5. Invest in the South Shore

A gift to the Quincy College Foundation is an investment in the region and its future. It contributes to thriving communities, far beyond the pivotal role it plays in providing a college education. By offering free summer programming for local high school students, ESOL classes for the area’s immigrant populations, professional development programs for educators and opening its campus to the public through its “Scholarly Conversations” series for the public, donating to Quincy College is a simple way to directly support your own community.

Ways to Give

Did you know that almost half of first-year students at Quincy College receive some form of financial assistance? Paying for their education can be an impediment to the pursuit of a college degree. Scholarships help students bridge that gap. Your gift to the Quincy College Foundation will help ensure deserving students have access to a Quincy College education.

If you would like to help shape the future of Quincy College students, we are ready to work with you to find the giving opportunity that best aligns with your values and interests. There are many ways to give, including:

By Check

Make your tax-exempt donation payable to the Quincy College Foundation and mail to 1250 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA 02169.

By Phone

We are always happy to discuss gifts to the Foundation with you. To discuss options or have someone take your credit or debit card gift over the phone, please call (617) 984-1773.

Scholarships

Establishing a named annual and/or endowed scholarship in honor or memory of a loved one is a lasting way to demonstrate support for our students. Scholarships can be designated for students in specific academic areas (e.g. nursing) or for the Foundation’s general scholarship fund.

Matching Gifts

Consider doubling or even tripling the value of your gift at no additional cost to you. Many companies give generously to educational institutions by matching their employees’ and even their employees’ spouses’ charitable contributions. Please contact your Human Resources Department to determine if your company offers a matching gift program.

Gifts of Stocks and Other Assets

You may be able to transfer stock or mutual fund holdings to the Quincy College Foundation while securing significant tax benefits for yourself and your family. Retirement funds and real estate can also be transformed into important philanthropic support for our students through the Quincy College Foundation.

Planned Giving

You can make a charitable gift now or after your lifetime based on assets in your estate. Such a gift can provide the Quincy College Foundation with significant future support for students while preserving the financial flexibility you need to care for yourself and your loved ones.

Giving by Donor-Advised Fund

By establishing a charitable account in exchange for an immediate tax deduction, donors can then choose The Quincy College Foundation to receive grants from the funds. DAF Direct enables you to recommend grants to Quincy College from Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, and BNY Mellon, to get started click here.

Corporate Giving

Quincy College is grateful for the support of our corporate sponsors. Our students are invested in our region — and our region is equally invested in Quincy College students. Corporate partners can expand the breadth and depth of our scholarship program or provide seed money for creative new initiatives.

We are honored to offer special levels of recognition to those who make a major gift to the Quincy College Foundation.
